Wednesday class opened with the welcoming of a new student "Tessa", then we reviewed the gauche/left, and droite/right, the concept of right and left is now well assimilated. Bravo kids !
We studied "Le corps humain"/human body on p. 10 of "Maternelle", I gave the children two photocopies (in the child binder) with a bit more vocabulary related to the human body that will learn a little later. We also worked on p. 11, and 12 of "Maternelle.
The group also studied the vocabulary "Les jouets"/The toys, in the book "First hundred words in French.
To amuse ourselves we did a little game "French Flash Cards", the children had to guess the word of the illustration on the cards, I must say, they did pretty well. The cards feature eight basic vocabulary words in seven different categories :
- Les animaux/Animals
- Les vêtements/Clothing
- Les moyens de transports/Vehicles
- Le marché/The Market
- La nature/Nature
- La salle/The room
- Les couleurs/Colors
The last 10 minutes, our quiet time, I read the children a story : "Les animaux de la forêt et des champs", the students participated all along the story by guessing the number of a animal, or by repeating the pronunciation of a animal, and so for.
Homework for Wednesday, October, 22: review the "human body" p. 10 of Maternelle, review the vocabulary "Les jouets" in First hundred words in French, and listen to the story from last week on e library "Toupie et Binou : Drôle d’Alloween"
